Background Operating since 1930, the Glacier Express navigates hundreds of bridges and tunnels at altitudes between 1,500 and 2,000 metres over a distance of 300 kilometres. The journey takes eight hours and it is jokingly known as the world's slowest express service. Unsigned and undated, this poster was probably created in the 1930s. Today it is widely reproduced, including on mugs and T-shirts.
