Background  Founded in 1958, the annual festival is a showcase for Irish playwrights and an opportunity for Dublin audiences to see international theatre.  Highlights in 1961, its fourth year, included an evening of readings by Princess Grace of Monaco, an adaptation of Kafka's The Trial by Cyril Cusack and works by John B Keane and Hugh Leonard. Le Brocquy is internationally known.
