A DRAMATIC original vintage GPO poster from around 1960 featuring a stormy seascape with the Bass Rock off Scotland's east coast, painted by by Sir William MacTaggart, above the slogan 'Please use your correct address'.

Background Bass Rock is a volcanic promontory that once accommodated a prison. Today it is a lighthouse and bird sanctuary. MacTaggart (1903-81) was a distinguished landscape artist. This work was painted in 1956.
