There is a 1.5cm tear top left with no loss of paper, and minor wear at bottom. Otherwise very good. If you would like to know more please get in touch.
This poster was issued by British Railways Southern Region and printed by Leonard Ripley & Co. The famous sleeper service, offering first-class passengers an uninterrupted night in bed as they made their journey, operated from the 1930s until the Channel Tunnel opened in 1994. The distinctive blue carriages of the Cie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (as in the poster) were rolled on to ferries for the sea crossing between Dover and Dunkirk and the whole trip took 11 hours. Greene created a number of posters for British Railways and ICI in the 1950s and 60s.
