Besides being the world's biggest manufacturer of radios in the 1930s, the Dutch company was also a popular international broadcaster, and this poster was probably designed to promote the Philips radio station. The style suggests the 1930s and there is another dating clue in the circular logo of waves and stars: this was replaced in 1938 by the shield form still used today.
