Background
This was one of the extensive ‘Britain’ series produced by the British Travel and Holidays Association around this time. Printed by W.S. Cowell of Ipswich. There is no castle in Castle Combe, but it is considered a quintessential English village and was once the home of Sir John Fastolf, who helped inspire Shakespeare’s Falstaff.
