Background
This was one of the ‘Britain’ series produced by the British Travel and Holidays Association around this time. Printed by Taylowe Ltd of Maidenhead. The 700-year-old Cornet Castle dominates the port of the island’s capital, and the paragraph also mentions Hauteville House, where Victor Hugo lived in exile from France in 1856-1870, and where he wrote Les Misérables.
