AN ORIGINAL vintage poster from 1953 showing a view over the English south coast resort of Torquay and promoting its 'fine hotels and varied entertainments'.

Background A holiday resort since the 19th century, Torquay has been called the capital of the English Riviera. The view looks southeast, with Torquay Pavilion and the harbour on the left and Berry Head in the distance.
