Outposts of Britain, Posting Box at Land's End, 1937

A CLASSIC original vintage 1937 poster by American designer McKnight Kauffer promoting the Post Office and showing a woman posting a letter at Land's End, at the southwestern extremity of England.   

Size 92cm x 74cm

Condition  Good. There is wear to the left and bottom margins including two square cms of paper loss in the yellow, lower left, and some tears without paper loss. If you would like to know more please get in touch. 

Background This was one of a series produced by the GPO in the same years as the Outpost of Empire system, but very different in design. Edward McKnight Kauffer (1890-1954) was an American designer and illustrator active in London from around 1914 to around 1940, and best known for his work for London Transport and London Underground.
