An original vintage poster for an exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris in 1974 marking the centenary of the Impressionist art movement and featuring 'Impression, Sunrise', the 1872 work by Claude Monet that gave the style its name.

Background  'Impression, Sunrise' was among the works shown by Monet at an exhibition in Paris in 1874 by a new wave of painters including Renoir, Degas and Morisot. Hostile critics picked out this work and its name for special abuse, but it came to be a symbol of the new art movement.
