Paris from the roof of Notre-Dame Cathedral, France, 1950s
A DRAMATIC original vintage poster showing the view east over Paris and the River Seine as seen from the roof of Notre Dame, including a rare close-up of the cathedral's magnificent spire.
Size 99cm x 62cm
Condition Good. The image is bright and clean. At the margins there are Sellotape stain marks (not on the photograph) and the poster has also been folded just below the photograph. For more information please get in touch.
Background 'Paris du Haut de Notre-Dame'. The richly decorated wooden spire, added to the cathedral in the 19th century by the architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, was lost in the 2019 fire, but the accompanying sculptures of saints survived because they had been removed for restoration. The whole feature is being recreated as it was.
