Background
Tàpies (1923-2012), the leading Catalan artist of recent times, was made a hereditary marquess by the King of Spain in 2010. In 2000 the French Open singles titles were won by Gustavo Kuerten and Mary Pierce. The poster carries a credit to Galerie Lelong of Paris and New York.
