A VERY FINE original vintage poster featuring an illustrated map of the chateaux of the Loire valley in France, with drawings by the respected French landscape painter Charles Tranchand.
Size 115cm x 80cm
Condition Good. There is wear on the margins and some paper loss on the right hand margin. A tear at the top has been repaired behind with tape. The image itself is clean and the colours bright. If you would like know more please get in touch.
Background The Loire valley is world famous for its many castles and stately homes, of which Chambord, Chenonceaux, Blois and Chambord are among the most famous. French royalty loved this region from the 16th to the 19th century. The illustrator, Charles Tranchand, came from Angers, in the heart of the chateaux country.
