A CHARMING and stylish original vintage poster from the 1950s designed by the leading Polish poster artist Witold Chmielewski promoting what was then the Polish state travel agency, Orbis.

Background 'Bureau Polonaise de Voyages, Varsovie, 16 Rue Bracka, Teladresse Tourorbis.' Founded in 1920, Orbis became the state travel agency during the communist era and remains active as a privately-owned company after 100 years. Chmielewski (1910-85) was chiefly active from the 1950s to the 1970s. The publisher, AGPOL, was an official body responsible for promoting Polish economic interests abroad.
