A DRAMATIC and rare original vintage poster from 1933 by the illustrator and author Hugh Murton le Fleming, promoting Malay railways. The Golden Chersonese is an ancient name for the Malay Peninsula.

Condition
The brightly-coloured central image is in very good condition. There is minor wear at margins and one 6cm tear near bottom left with no paper loss. If you would like to know more please get in touch. .
Background
The Federated Malay States came into being in 1895 and survived until the foundation of Malaysia in 1946; the railway company operated over roughly the same period. The locomotive drawing the train through the spectacular scenery may be an FMSR ‘new’ C class. The poster was printed by Ying Wah of Kuala Lumpur.
