Background Les Walton's was the marionette show of the Jadot family, celebrated puppeteers in France through five generations from around 1800. The act, performed in this period by a father, daughter and son (pictured inset), featured puppet versions of some of the greatest musical stars of the era, including Josephine Baker, Mistinguett and Maurice Chevalier. Les Walton's toured widely in Europe, America and Africa and were active under that name from around 1905 to the Second World War.
