Background
The walled city of Carcassonne is among the glories of French national heritage. E Paul Champseix has painted a view looking north along the city walls towards the castle and the square Tour Pinte.

Various dates have been suggested for this poster, but it must belong to the years 1934-1937 – between the merger that created the Chemins de Fer d’Orleans et du Midi and its takeover by SNCF. The printer is Lucien Serre of Paris.
