Toul, France, 1930s
AN ATMOSPHERIC original vintage poster by L. Symonnot promoting the eastern French town of Toul, published in the 1930s or before by the regional railway company Chemins de Fer de l'Est.
101cm x 62cm
The top border is marked by three punch-holes from which the poster would probably have originally been hung. Tears on the top left and left side have been repaired. If you would like to know more please get in touch.
The poster shows the 16th century Gothic cloister of the church of Saint Gengoult in an elegant composition picked out with beautiful colours. It is not dated but must have been issued before the end of 1937, when Chemins de Fer de l’Est ceased to exist. Printed by Lucien Serre, Paris.
